The Badrinath Temple has been a sacred pilgimage site for thousands of years. With the relatively recent developement of a road and automobile and bus travel, it much easier to visit this holy site. It is still not an easy journey and must have been very difficult before the more modern forms of travel. Badrinath is a Vishnu temple, where God is worshipped in the form of Lord Vishnu.
